i just wondered what products other people absolutely love and wouldn't be without, after years of use. (i.e. what am i missing out on?!)
for me:
Effax saddle soap (from the same people as Effol) - lovely smell, so easy to put on, keeps leather amazingly supple.
Thermatex Rugs for cozy dry horses (oldies will remember having to 'thatch' wet horses, and/or lead them around for hours to dry off in winter!)
Fal NZ Rugs (amazingly warm, never rub, still going strong 8 years on, look like new, and my horses live in them all winter)
Tubtrugs for feeding, lightweight, horse-proof, and colour-coded for every horse, so if i'm away there's a good chance they'll get the correct feed!
Super-padded leather girths with the elastic in the middle (not against the horse), from Kay Humphries, for super-comfy horses.
Sabre leatherwork, because it still looks great after years of use.
Barry Swain saddles, for comfy, happy horses.
Cavallo breeches, cos they feel great on.
Ariat half-chaps, for the lovely fit.
There's probably lots of other things, but that's all i can think of for now.
So...what do you love that has stood the test of time, and why?

A few of my favourite products though include........

My rodney powell body protector, comfy and has saved me many a time when coming off. Custom made in yellow........makes it easier for jump jedges to find you in the bottom of a ditch!

absorbine showsheen.....just gorgeous

stubben saddle soap

rubber feed buckets made of tyres - forget trademark name

10 minute soak sugarbeet, so it doesn't matter if you forget to do it.

I'll second full neck rugs and clippers

Fab stirrups with a "spring" in them, help my stiffening knees loads!

New Zealand Herbals (from Equus Health) Devils Claw Flex, keeps my horse sound and happy!

Equus Health Winter Glow/Summer SHine - all mine have fab coats, skin, soft eyes, all year round.

totally agree about n.e.w. boots, and rodney powell body protector. good ones!
i can't second you on ariat boots though - every pair i've had (about 5 pairs), the zippers have broken or stopped staying up. very annoying. lovely and comfy though, until the zippers go.

Ariat Boots and Gloves
Thermatex rug
I would have said Fal rugs, but in my recent experience, unless you spend £300 now, the quality isn't the same as it was a few years ago

My Renault Master horsebox

Cashell Crusader Fly Mask (great fit, never rubs)

And my mare, who has a one track mind would vote for Naglets chunky horsetreats. She loves them

that's interesting to hear about FALs... i'll treasure my wonderful old ones, still going strong, even more then. they've obviously heard about "built-in obsolescence."

[/ QUOTE ]Yeah, I'm really sad about it. I bought the Cavalier Silver Interactive last year - £220 but didn't get through the winter without the usual snags that effect cheaper ones. The outer fabric just isn't as tough as I'd come to expect. I had another the previous year, but it wasn't a good fit on my mare (it moved too much - again unusual for a Fal) so I sold it after a couple of wears. I can't remember which model it was, but I wasn't very impressed with the quality of the fabric and would not have expected it to last well.

I had a couple 5 years ago. One of them was a Viking - fantastic. I sold them in perfect condition after a lot of wear (because I sold the horse and bought a bigger one!). I'm just not prepared (nor can I afford) to risk £300 for another Viking since I can't be sure that the quality will be there

Oh well they say all good things must come to an end.

Weatherbeta seem well made (not like the old Fal's but what is?) and good value.

Umm...

Another vote for the horseware, full neck rugs
Another vote for the springy stirrups

Oh, and cortaflex; for the older horses, hound and myself! We'd all be screwed without it
