Wonky pony

My ned had a "special" shoe put on yesterday, as the outside of his near fore hoof doesn't seem to be growing properly.

My farrier has welded an extra inch of metal onto the outside edge of the original shoe which makes it stick out quite a bit.

I've never seen this before, has anyone else heard of it?

Hi hows you! No sounds like he has adapted a shoe for you,my farrier did lots of things when my TB mare was alive with adapting her shoes,if the shoe over rides I would suggest it might be worth putting a long overeach boot on so it's not caught and pulled...just an idea!
