Hi All,

Really cheesed off. Went fo a ride tonight and it was really spoiled by a toss pot man. my sisters horse was scared having to walk between 2 cars tonight and panic pooed on the road by a house. once he was clam, my sister got him past. Next minute this man came runniing after us shouting about twiz's poo and we had better clean it up or else! really aggressive and threatening. It's close to where i live, so said immiediatley i would when i returned from ride. he got so nasty. What did he expect me to do, produce a shovel from my sisters horse!!!!!!!

Fed up and don't know why he had to be such a tosser??????

Spolied ride completely

But still

, I've practically given up hacking out anywhere except the moors now, sick of ignorant pigs of all descriptions. Once I heard a rider get asked if she paid road tax, when she replied no the idiot screamed "well get of the f'ing road then!"

I think we should get them in a firing line lol.

Lol snap, i had the same thing happen to me a few months back, this woman came running up the street after me, so i said what do you want me to do carry a pooper scooper with me..... i could understand if it had been on the pavement, everytime my horse has a poo while out now i wonder where and when a crazed woman is going to come running after me! doesnt make riding out enjoyable at all!!!!

Sorry about late post but tried ages to get on tonight

Hiya and welcome to the forum. I'm sorry to hear this man upset you like that, really some people do not understand horses at all and their complexities, especially if they are nervous when out and about.
I mean come on horse poo is environmentally friendly. It's great for gardens and breaks down easily in the rain. It's not like dog shite for instance that can harbour all sorts of nasties nevermind stink if you happen to tread in it and then inside the house and ergh that makes me heave

I get pretty pisd off when people allow their dog to fowl pavements that run alongside a junior school just around the corner from where I live.
These people are inconsiderate and yet I wonder how many of them see them do it.
I'm just waiting for the time that someone tackles me if my horse ever happens to poo on the road near to where I live or anywhere for that matter. They will be tackling the wrong one lol.
It's absurd to expect riders to pick up poo like that.
For one you could not safely carry around equipment to do the job and secondly if on the road it would be extremely unsafe to try and move it whilst holding onto a horse.
I hope the man sees sense at some point but I very much doubt it as sadly a lot of non horsey people are very ignorant of horses and riders and their needs.
I hope you have a better ride next time

We've had before with a lady coming around from the council i think, at my old yard, saying about picking up poo. This was quite rediculas as the road just outside the stables on which we had to ride to get anywhere was quite busy! I'm sure we would get moaned at and it would be very dangerous for us to get off, pull out your shovel and bag (which you all know we carry out on every ride!) and clear up this mess next to high speeding cars....erm i don't think we will!
Another time, also at this old yard, when i was younger i was riding alnog after my mum, ned stopped and had a poo- this was not on the path or road but actually an entrance into a track- and a man said rather rudely 'aren't you going to pick that up then?' me being only little and rather scared promtly kicked on and went trotting off!!

Has anyone noticed how many petitions there are on the No 10 website demanding horse owners clear up the roads after their horses?

Hello!
When I lived in London I used to have the Police Horses ride past my house to get to Chelsea football stadium and they ALWAYS pooed on th road. Weirdly I think I was the only one who didn't mind as i really missed the smell of horses! I used to love waalking past their lorry on the way back from the supermarket with the lovely horsey smell. All the Londoners would wrinkle their noses in disgust!
