Woo hoo - first clear XC!

On my Welshie. He's had very limited XC experience due to lack of things to go to or clashes with other events. Did a M&M ODE today and he got his first ever clear XC

Even jumping a huge ditch which I was very worried about as he's never seen one so deep & wide. Also went straight into the water first time (has taken a lot of practice to achieve that!). Got 2nd overall

and was only .4 penalties off winning - damn it!

Still dont think he'll make an eventer though

He's SO damn slow! We actually had to trot in places he got so tired. His stamina stinks, which I guess is because he's built like a tank (although NOT fat). My aim to do an intro with him in September is looking bleak

Yeah it was exellent weather. Haven't seen sun for so long, it was rather nice! The ground dried up quite a bit which was damn lucky as yesterday it was just a bog with rivers running down the fields.

Nope, entry was pretty dismal TBH. I think if they plan to hold another then they have to advertise. They did bugger all so nobody knew about it. You didnt have a hairy to take round then?
 
Well the only way you would know about it is seeing about on MRC WWW, My Highland would die at the shock of being asked to something for a living

Well done!! I'd go for the Intro anyway!

I wondered what was on at Burgie. I was up that way this weekend picking up/dropping off horses and passed a good few trailers.

When's your next BE (daren't ask in case it's cancelled!)?
