Woo Hoo! Horses for Heroes Ascot Ride

We had a fabulous day at the Horses for Heroes event at Ascot Racecourse. The buzz of galloping across the hallowed turf and past the Finishing Post was just amazing!

And to top it all, loads of money raised for Help for Heroes! A perfect day.

I know at some point there was talk of around 600 riders, but I've no idea what the final total was. Will look forward to reading about it in the report in this week's Horse & Hound!

What a sweet looking pony! I love the pic with the Wizard of Oz gang - I got started with a group of beautiful Lusitanos all in running plaits and even one girl side saddle, and felt slightly outclassed!! But all very friendly, and despite being on my own I chatted to loads of riders on the way round. Please let's do it again next year!

He's very sweet to look at but he's known as devil pony as he will on occasion buck like stink, for no reason other than he can lol.

I hope they do it again as I really want to do it on my big man. The Wizard of Oz gang were great. They were parked next to us and the witches horse wasn't very impressed with the riders costume.
