wood bark chippings in the field gate way where to buy cheapist

hi everyone, can anyone tell me of a cheap supplier of wood bark in leicestershire, pref with delivery. the farmer says i can put some down the gate way

Sorry can't help, but just to say that without proper hardcore underneath you might find the woodbark disappears in a matter of weeks if not days.

Totally agree. Hardcore first and then find a friendly sawmill.

Bark will disintegrate in no time. You need woodchip. These people deliver and were cheapest I could find. It's good stuff.

Google local tree surgeons, they are usually only too pleased to get rid of chippings. Check there is nothing poisonous though.

Don't go there! I put down a surface of chippings in my school as they were free from the tree surgeon. 5 years down the line, I had a horrible pudding mess, that the tractor couldn't even get through, and we had to take the whole lot out. The wood absorbs all the wet, but doesn't drain it through. When we'd finally got all the chippings up onto the banks the whole school looked like a swimming pool! Road planings are supposed to be very good for gateways. I'm sure you could find a contractor who would deliver a load for you.

Don't bother you'll have a composty mulch in no time - go for road planings.

We've had road planings put down and they were great til the onset of continuous rain ... now (even though we had the top soil removed before putting them down) they have still sunk and been swamped by mud

We're going to have to put down crush and run hardcore before putting down more road planings
