Wood pellet bedding

Hi- yes lots of people use it. You may want to search the forum for the many threads on it where it is discussed at length. It is very good. You add water to the pellets and they swell up to a wood fibre that is absorbant. On a dailey basis you take out the poo, which is easy as it sits on the top, and take out clumbs of wet when they bring themselves to your attention.

I use it under shavings because its really absorbent. I didn't like the look of the bed always looked dirty to me but I am a bit anal about my beds. It's was easy & quick to muck out . Just preferred the look of the shavings

this is what i was thinking of doing using it under shavings? I am picky over my beds to they have to look clean and level lol! i usually use straw but cob needs avoid straw hence new bedding needed lol x

We used to use it - found it to be really absorbent and really good value for money. However we stopped using it as despite following the instructions perfectly and watering when required etc, it was just far too dusty and made the horses all quite ill. We tried several different makes / qualities but all did the same - though I know others haven't had this problem. We now use megazorb as it's not dusty and ridiculously absorbent, but it is a lot more expensive.

Brilliant as bedding, very clean(I have a coloured horse who stays very clean on it). Never had any problems with dust with them though as the person has above.
