Has anybody ever had one/some of these?
We need to plant a hedge line along a new boundary fence and the prices seem pretty reasonable!

I wanted more variety than you get in these packs so I bought from a local tree nursery. Hawthorn whips were 20p each when buying 100+. Other species were more expensive, partly as I was buying in smaller quantities, but some were only available cell-grown. I wanted to put in quite a bit of elm but they were cell-grown and £1 each (but they will sucker in time so I'll get free ones...) I chose not to use canes or spirals as I wanted the base of the hedge to bush out properly. I haven't lost any to rabbits although the ponies and hares did nip a few right off one year - they came back the next year though and look better now than a lot of the non-eaten ones!

I’ve looked at their packs but when we buy will go to a tree nursery instead. We have so much hawthorn and blackthorn here already that I don’t want to introduce any more, but do want Roman, hornbeam, birch etc.

I’m avoiding blackthorn like the plague ? but the horses and sheep love hawthorn (I do too!)
I’ve had a quick look online at my localish tree nurseries and haven’t found anything cheaper yet

I have hawthorn (about 60%), blackthorn, hazel, field maple, dogwood, dog rose, holly, elm and goat willow in my new hedges. They all respond well to being trimmed. What soil are you on?

Clay here. We’ve already got alot of blackthorn (no more!!! I hate it), hawthorn, crack(?) willows dotted around, field maple, elder in some places
