Sorry to bore you all again with yet another post about Pidge, but am so pleased
smile.gif
vet came out this morning to reassess him with his hock spavin. He had his last 1/2 satchet of bute Friday morning and none since. Well he checked him over thoroughly walked and trotted him up and then did 2 flexion tests on his bad leg and there was no even a hint of any lameness
smile.gif
he is very pleased with how he is going. so back on 1 bute a day for 4 weeks, up his work to include canter (officially now though he has settled recently and not cantered

) but no jumping as yet. By the end of the 4 weeks the injection should have worn off so we can see just how much the hcok spavin has settled down. Vet is very optimistic on a full recovery

Oh and to top it all off when got back in the car to come back to work the radio was playing U2 - It's a beautiful day - certainly is

Just thought I'd share my happy day with everyone as there has been so much bad news on here recently

Oh Sue I am delighted for you, and the handsome orange man.. You must be bursting with happiness.. well deserved I might add.. Go Pidge Gooooooo

thanks, am grinning from ear to ear, despite being at work

don't want to get my hopes up too much but surely if the vet is very pleased and optimistic of a return to full work then I can get a bit excited

So happy

thanks the way he is working now you never know I might just make a dressage horse out of him yet
grin.gif

Last night I worked him for an hour and there was no leaning on the bit at all and he did lots of long and low work. And then just before I finished we leg yielded to the track in trot and then he just lifted dropped and we floated round 2 more circles and then I called it a day as I always like to finish on a good note
smile.gif
Sorry its just like riding a different horse - but for the better
smile.gif

fingers crossed Lisa

If after 4 weeks all is good then I should be able to start jumping him again
smile.gif
and if so can we book Somerford like the next day

Hurrah! Great news.
Would love to see some pics / vid of Pidge now he's turning into a dressage horse!

Count me in for the Somerford ride as well. We took Brooklyn & Marco there a couple of weeks ago and had a fab time.

thanks everyone, your support on here has been great when Pidge was first diagnosed with this
