Hi all, following my post a few weeks back i managed to haggle the owner down to a good price and im picking up the 13.2 grey mare tommorow

.

I wanted to ask some advice as i stated in previous post she was quiet nasty towards her owners (trying to bite them but not me!) and i wanted to know what you all think the best way of nipping this in the bud is!?? She did'nt seem to respond at all to a smack under the belly. Any suggestions ???

Thank you! I will try that. She just seemed to get the hump more when her owner smacked her! But im hoping that being out 24/7 should cure her as shes been stabled for weeks with no turnout or exercise which is enough to make anyone grumpy!

I will do! Im hoping she'll be happier out but that could just be wishful thinking! I will let you all know what works best! I didnt know if moody mare supps are any good??

Best way, to be consistent from day one! Firm but fair.

My youngster goes through stages of nipping so I make sure I'm never close enough for him to catch me with his teeth! If he steps forward into my space uninvited I back him up a couple of paces and praise him massively once he's back where he should be. He does not respond well to a smack, it gets him more wound up however he understand this method, even though he likes to test that I'm still incharge everyday!

Good luck, enjoy her
