Taking a shortcut back to the yard after a nice hack yesterday and came across a section of hedge that looked 'hunt maintained'...don't think poor G quite got what I meant when cantering at it as felt him tense a bit in a 'err, mum that's a hedge, we shall have to stop now' way, then the penny dropped and he took a hold and over we flew/ballooned!

Anyone else loving hacking round hunt country at the moment and finding newly opened up jumps to play over? It's like Christmas round br me as each one gets unwrapped of its wire!! :D

Oh well I must point out that the hedge was prob only around 3ft tall (cut out a section from larger hedge but a fair width) and G is 17hh so not quite as brave as I'd like to take credit for lol!
Bless him he's an old boy and was a SJer most of his life but seems to be taking semi-retirement in his stride!

Good for you- sort of thing I would have done in my youth - defo not now though 3ft???? might as well be 6ft (I draw the line at 70cm)

Wooot :D Brilliant isn't it haha.

Though in saying that, I took a cracker of a fall over the last hedge out hunting today. :(

I saw that on fb binky...bad times, hope a nice bubble bath is all you need to fix you up on this occasion!

I'm not sure if I'll be finding any more as have sort of told OH I won't jump anymore (14 weeks pregnant) but on the sly I am popping the odd jump I come across as long as its reasonably small and sensible looking...lol!

Promise to keep the jumping secret HHOers ;)

So sorry, I nearly missed this!

Well done, you are braver than I (managed to avoid jumping anything on hound ex the other day)!

I didn't mean to encouraged you with stories of my pregnant antics! ;)

Might go out with the Vale during half term, fancy joining me?

What day/date? Annoyingly im not allowed any time off in October so may not be able to but if can get time off I'll be there. Depending on where it is and how competent a rider I'm feeling I'll either be on foot or on horse!!

If someone came larking about over my hedges/fences and they weren't hunting, I'd have something to say about it, I wouldn't be a happy bunny but if this was on public land or you had permission then fair enough. And I agree, hedges are great!

She has permission to ride on said ground and it's not going to get cut up ATM.

Yes, I do have permission to ride across the land as long as obviously I don't terrorise his livestock and shut all gates after me...and say hello as and when I see farmer!

Marm, I can't go next week :( its still October so no day off for me. I also think OH would do his nut if he found out I was even contemplating this lol!
