After reading this it makes me think I'm ashamed to be human.

I'm soo disgusted that one of our race ...or to be more precise that a fellow Brit could be so disgusting,

"LONDON (Reuters) - A former soldier who urinated on a woman as she lay dying was sentenced to three years in jail on Friday.

Anthony Anderson, 27, of Hartlepool, first threw a bowl of water over the stricken Christine Lakinski before urinating and spraying shaving foam on her.

Lakinski, 50, who suffered from a number of medical conditions, was later pronounced dead at the scene, having suffered from pancreatic failure.

The ex-soldier, who was sentenced at Teesside Crown Court, had admitted outraging public decency at an earlier hearing.

On the evening of the incident in July, Anderson had been smoking a cannabis joint and drinking with friends in Hartlepool when they spotted Lakinski's motionless body in a doorway.

Lakinski, who had suffered curvature of the spine and learning difficulties from birth, had fallen ill and stumbled, banging her head, on her way home.

Anderson kicked her foot, and after she failed to respond said he was going to urinate on her prone body. A friend then filmed him on a mobile phone.

One of the group shouted: "This is YouTube material", the court was told.

They rang an ambulance about 20 minutes later as they prepared to go out nightclubbing.

Police traced the 999 call to one of the friends, and Anderson was arrested.

Detective Inspector Keith Groves of Cleveland Police said Lakinski should have at least expected to have been treated with "care and compassion, dignity and respect".

"Unfortunately on this occasion this was not the case," he said.

"I am sure all decent people will be absolutely disgusted not only with the actions of Anthony Anderson but also with those of the other people present who stood and watched and laughed and in one case recorded the incident on a mobile phone."

...And what makes me as evil is that I want to do the same to him.

Shame he didn't get longer.

I read somewhere that she probably wasn't conscious at the time, but this doesn't make it a lot better. Wonder why no one else was charged. Isn't there an offence of failing to assist an injured person?

Sadly this does not shock me at all,it just proves what a discusting society that we live in these days!!He should have got life like many of the other sick bas----s that get away with the crimes they commit!!!Bring back hanging is what i say!!!

Absolutley disgusting. It makes me feel sick. It worries me what society is going to be like in the future. He should be strung up and left to die a slow, painful, undignified death.

I too am utterly lost for words. That poor lady, such indignity in her final moments of life. May she be at peace now, away from all harm.

I do think there is a strong case for bringing back the death penalty in this country. Not sure he would be PTS because of what he did this time, but I do get fed up at paying tax to support his jail term. Anybody think of really unpleasant ways of repaying a debt to society?

I'd love to hear it as I've yet to hear a convincing argument yet....

Murders don't tend to re-offend though....

Statistically you are better off to be married to a convicted murdered than one who is not.

As told to me by a certain judge who lectures in sencing at the moment...

Murderers don't deserve to live. Why should they when they've taken that right from someone else?! Why should WE all be PAYING to keep killers assholes alive AND kitted out with TV's and whatever other "human rights" they scream for?! However, dont think this is a death penalty matter since he didn't actually kill someone although worrying all the same. I think the death penalty should only be applied to those who are 100% proven to have done it (ie. no doubt) and also only if it was nothing to do with self defence etc.

Yes, I understand that is the opinion held by those who are for the death penalty - but it isn't a convincing argument, it is just an opinion.

But then why should we, as a country, lower ourself to the very behaviour that you are condemning. Your agument is basically "killing is wrong... so kill them"

Oh yes a great argument - let's execute people for cost reasons
crazy.gif
Does this apply to the elderly members of society that are dependant on the state also?? I think you'll find it would be far more expensive to go through the appeal process and execute them than it ever is to keep them imprisoned.

LOL! I'm getting the impression that you don't actually know what's contained in the HRA!!

I agree

LMAO!!! This argument always makes me laugh. We should only execute if they definitely did it

..... as opposed to locking someone up for the rest of their life, which we should do if we are what? Fairly sure? We think so?? We suspect so?? There's a chance they did?? It's a bit ridiculous. No one should be punished for ANY offence unless we are sure beyond reasonable doubt. And even with this burden of proof requirement we STILL have miscarriages of justice. I would rather see ten guilty men walk free than have one person convicted of an offence they did not commit. You can't bring someone back to life if new evidence comes to light.

(BTW - if you kill someone in self defence it isn't murder so that is irrelevant.)

I can't make my mind up about this one. In some ways I agree with the sentiments that I don't see why my taxes should be spent on keeping someone alive who has taken the life of someone else. Having said that, why should we lower ourselves to their level?

I also think manslaughter and murder are two different things entirely....a woman who kills her husband who has been beating and torturing her for 10 years in self defence...should she be put to death? I can't imagine there are a large number of calculating, cold blooded murderers actually out there (well, in prison).

And in the case of someone like Ian Huntley and Myra Hindley, prison for those people is just a way of keeping them out of society rather than punishment. With those sorts of people the punishment means nothing (I would guess) so they just need to be taken out of society so they can't do anymore damage.

Can I just ask a question. Why is it the guy who tried to kill my friend, in front of witnesses, who ran off was caught within an hour in his car, with two steak knives and a carving knife down the side of the drivers seat and over the legal drink drive limit. Get let out on bail prior to going before the court (oh he didn't turn up)! then he broke into her house stole various items, one being her phone book so he had all her numbers and started calling all in the book and leaving messages but as he didn't admit to breaking and entering (although the door had been forced open, the police couldn't do anything about it - they even had all the voice messages from the answerphones) and this is a guy who has tried to kill her! Oh by the way guys watch out as he's still out there!
