yeah, mostly would be kids tho, i would imagine. thats what i used to do as a kid on top of my lessons. my parents couldn't afford to buy me my own.................jeez i was so deprived as a kid!
are u looking for the work or for the worker?
Worker if one exists. Not really suitable for children as they'd be on their own. I thought someone with school children or as you say someone who can't afford their own might be interested. I'd certainly jump at the chance if I was horseless....
i'd be interested but i'm in scotland. kinda ironic but i work in a riding school, and never get to ride...............long story hence my signature. and i'm paying £28 an hour to ride elsewhere in a lesson. as i grudge paying for a lesson where i work lol
i'd love something to play about with whilst i save all my cash to buy my own
am going to give my time to teach a novice owner how to back and bring on her shetland for free instead as i need a project too
Horses are frustrating at times. You have the time but not the money & then when you have enough money you're short of time! I dream of having horses without a full time job as do many i guess. Backing a shetland will be fun. Young horses are very rewarding. Seems wrong that you help for no reward.
I put up an advert offering to work for rides in the local saddlery but no-one has got back to me. So yes we do exist! (I am in Wiltshire though so no good for you
)
There seems to be a mismatch in different parts of the country between people looking for loans/shares/rides and people offering them.
i really don't mind helping for free, i've done my fair share of free schooling, grooming etc it will be nice to make sure i can remember how to do all the work around backing a pony or horse as the last 1 i did was 6 years ago.
i'm not really money orientated, i'm just happy to help, and i love spending time with neddies even tho i work full time with them.
anyway, back on topic, have u tried advertising for a sharer which seems to be more the thing than work for rides? they also pay some costs towards livery, shoes etc depending on how much time they get to spend with the horse (less money for less days). ideal for someone who doesn't have the time or money for a full time loan or owned horse.
