In my department we have personal email addresses and a department one. Department one obviously going to the entire department.

Why, oh why, oh why then does my colleague insist on reading every single department email out loud to me and asking me "if I've received it", usually about 10 mins after I've already read it...
 
Plug yourself in to some music and ignore. I listen to music most of the day at my work so I can get on with some work and ignore the folk who irritate me from time to time :)
 
Hi, whilst I can completely sympathise, that sounds incredibly annoying!! It does sound like she is only trying to be helpful.

Could you tactfully suggest that she ASKS first, then reads it out if you haven't read it?

That way she can feel efficient and helpful, and you won't have to hear an email read out to you that you haven't already read!
