Work/worked? How did you get a job in the Equine Industry?

Hello,

I am a student at Warwickshire College conducting some research on employment in the Equine Industry.

I would like to find out some ways people have been recruited into a job within equine.

Please share your experiences with how you got your job and what process you went through to obtain it. (Online, word of mouth, interview,CV, letters, approached.... etc.)

Word of mouth is an incredibly powerful tool in the industry where practical skills and riding ability and experience often outweigh paper qualifications. We have found staff that way and also through advertising online on social media and in H&H.

It was a long time ago for me - I did work experience through school at a racing yard and then just carried on working there afterwards, first at a weekend and school / college holidays then full time after I'd left college
