I know nothing about breeding for working spaniels but now we have little Fred I am going to start researching back on his lines and see what his family is like.

Does anyone know who the sought after lines would be for springers?

Rytex and Badgercourt are the well known ones for successful Field Triallers - I think (but don't quote me!) they are responsible for the many mostly white spaniels we see now. (Don't like them but I have one!!)

Have a look at this website - they are all really knowledgeable on breeding and if you ask someone will give you a long list of your dogs pedigree with all the good and bad bits!!

Good luck!

I didn't know that Drakeshead did Spaniels. My lab is a Drakeshead descendant.
