I am wanting to start taking my cob in working cob classes but don't really know much about it. I know the jumps are smaller than those in a working hunter class.
Does anyone know:
1) Which shows hold Working Cob classes around Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Norwich area? I've only seen one working cob class advertised which as the the East Of England show - we're not quite ready for that standard yet!

2) If there are a shortage of working cob classes, would I be able to take him in to a working hunter class locally. I am worried he wouldn't be able to jump he height of a 15hh working hunter course. Unfortunately there is no mistaking him for a hunter though. He is a true cob with 9.5" bone.
3) What height the jumps are? And rough number of jumps to a course.
4) What height/bone a working cob should be/have? Or what makes a good working cob?

Thanks!

Yep...know what you mean, never many Working cob classes around! (Unless I go round with my eyes shut!

My cob so I'm told would excell at this class to County level, his a nice clean jumper......only problem I hate jumping, and I have no jockey to see if he did!
Jumps for novice classes are between 2ft 3" and 2ft 6" with one being a spread of 2ft 6".......if that's any help!

Try having a Maxi working cob lol

I compete him in local WH and he isn't that discriminated against and when he behaves are usualy placed. Don't let it put you off that it isn't a working cob class.

I only found one local one last year so went along and it was just me and one other in the class which was a shame.

Look on the BSHA website and get some info about shows with working cob classes. Give it a go, you never know... good luck!!
