Working hunter help- tack, and my jacket advice needed.

I have qualified for hoys search for a star working hunter. Can some kind people give me advise on what i need to change, or alter? The link below if of us when we qualified.
Im buying a new saddle, as im selling my old one, so thought about going for brown tack instead of black?
Also the hacking jacket isnt mine, could someone post/ advise on what style or colour would suit us best. There seems to be all different styles, and patterns etc.

I dont really know a lot about showing but i think your idea about the brown tack would be good , i always prefer it to black anyway.
Green hacking jackets also always look really smart in my opinion and will look lovely against a chestnut

Go to one of the clinics with Richard and Marjorie Ramsey if you possibly can - they will advise you in the best way possible.
Personally, if you're going to the clinic I'd leave buying anything new till after you've been critqued by them - they are the no.1 experts in the field!

I am going to the clinic, but if things need changing i might be pushing it as it only leaves a month till hoys once ive been the clinic.

Definitely brown tack for showing!
From personal preference, as your horse is a chestnut, then I would prefer a brown tweed jacket and hat but if you don't want the added expense, your own hat will do. I'm sure the clinic will be able to iron out any problems you might have so go and enjoy it; the best of good wishes, a great achievement.

Thank you for your reply. Yes i think i may have to get a second hand saddle.(I do need one anyway!) Although may have to beg, steal or borrow a brown double bridle!
I quite like the brown jackets with velvet collars, would one like this look ok?
Re- hat, think this will have to stay, only bought if afew months ago!!

Just get a plain tweed without velvet as that isn't correct and a navy velvet hat.
