Following on from the post about what to wear in a WH class... :D

Friend has told D1 that she can take Big Cob into the Equestrian Life WH classes (hope I've got that right - I know she's doing the EL show jumping, but I didn't know they did WH as well).

Anyhoo, D1 took BC in a WH class last week (local level). She changed from her show jumping jacket into a black jacket, but still had white breeches on. Judge in WH told her that the white has to go! Hm.

BC is black and white, so what colours does one go for? He's not mine, so I can't change his tack (which is black (and very comfy!)), but I'm happy to get D1 the clothes she needs. D1's Little Cob is also black and white so that's useful lol :D. Oh, D1 is fifteen :). BC is about 15.1hh.

Here's pic of Big Cob so you get the idea (scuse the slight left behind seat, D1 is still learning and BC has a pretty powerful punch at times lol):

Hot choccies and Ferro Roches!

What a beautiful cob!

No erudite suggestions as to clothing or tack as we don't show. But big cob is so gorgeous I had to say something!

Ideally she should have navy hat, tweed jacket, beige jods and black long boots. Her gloves should complement the jacket and she should have a brown cane/whip. Nice bright tie too. :)

Nice horse btw!

Pretty much what the others have said! Beige jods, tweed jacket, gloves, cane. Hmm.. confused about the over 15hh wearing long boots, Im under 16 and was riding a 16.1hh. Told I had to wear jod boots? :s
Hope she has a lovely time :D

Not that she is wearing them in the pic, but no spurs for juniors either, check with the organisers re boots for D1, tweed jacket, shirt and tie, might be worth looking for a copy of what not to wear on a horse, very good info :) And may I take this opportunity to request that riders wear hairnets when showing? Please :D

She looks cracking on big cob!!
Tweed hacking jacket, beige jods, shirt and tie and gloves, her hat is perfect as it has a flesh coloured harness but dont forget the hairnet. Ive always been taught that all under 16's should wear jod boots?

Ahh just found this hope it helps....

Turnout
A tweed jacket must be worn for ridden showing; black or navy blue jackets are incorrect, except for formal evening performances. Jodphurs or breeches should be beige, canary, cream or corn coloured. Adults should wear long boots, Long boots can be straight or dressage cut. Straight cut long boots should be worn with garter straps. Note that an adult may wear jodphur boots if they are riding a small breed or a smaller large breed. Juniors (under 16) should wear jodphur boots with jodhpurs secured by clips or elastic. Hat should be velvet coverd and conform to current safety standards. Shirt should have a good collar that does not buckle once the tie is done up. Shirt and tie can be plain, spotted or striped, so long as they are discreet. Stocks are incorrect. A tie pin is optional. Waistcoat is optional, if worn it should compliment the colour of shirt and tie. Gloves should be plain brown. Show canes are most popular, a plain whip may also be carried. Ladies hair should be neat and tidy, in a net, ponytail or bun. Ribbons and bows should be kept to a minimum. Younger girls can wear pigtails, pony tail or plaits. Ribbons and bows may be worn but should be discreet.
