I'm looking for some suggestions for things I can do with my horses while I can't ride.

The little one, I've been lunging, taught to pop a small fence on lunge, and daughters been riding him on lead rein. So think his work is ok.

Its teddi, I just don't know what to do with him, he gets bored if I lunge him all the time.

Does anyone have any suggestions for things to make lunging more exciting or something different.

Oh I can loose school as don't have an arena.

Thanks

Long reining is always an option but it depends how far pregnant you are? I wouldn't fancy doing too much of it without feeling like I was about to drop the baby as I marched! LOL!
When you lunge - do you work him in hand too or do you just send him on a large circle? I have been working my boy in hand, getting him to bend and flex, step under himself and turn on the forehand, step away from me etc... keeps him thinking and more supple - then we do some larger work and come back to the inhand work :)
(I've only got about 4 wks left so I know how you feel!)

I'd maybe do some stuff like he was a youngster - long reining is a lot more interesting and you can set up obstacles and things like poles in an L shape - will improve his balance and stuff.

Ohhhhh long reining is a good idea, i've never actually done long reining before so i guess this would be a good time to learn.
love this idea.

could also do some bending etc ground work, Teddi could definatley do with some of this.
