i use a worming programme from the vets, next years wormers include two sets of a double dose of pyra tape along with loads of other stuff, which got me wondering about worm egg counts...
How much roughly are they to do? how often should i send them off? and any recommendations for places to do it?
surely the less wormer the better?

ooh and roughly how many doses would i have to do a year? or does that depend on worm burden?

Worm counts mean you can reduce the chemicals administered, but you still need to worm for tapeworm as they don't show up in a worm count. You're better off putting this in vet section so you might get more answers.

You can get worm counts done at your vet or use a company like Westgate Labs.

I have used westgatelabs for years... fantastic and quick service .. about £9.50 per test.

I only use chemical wormers for tapeworm etc in autumn and use herbal / homeopathic the reat of the year. You could also do a (chemical) tartgeted worming system in that you teat every three months or so and worm only when needed.

the site has loads info
