can you buy the kit to do a worm egg count yourself?? i know you obviously need a microscope but where can i find out what else i need?

I have 13 horses on the yard, i've just done some random egg counts and some horses have come back very low and others very high so i would need to do all the horses on my yard really so i dont worm for no reason. But when doing 13 horses and buying the wormers it gets very expensive, any one any ideas please??

thank you

Unless you can be trained to interpret the results and are prepared to invest not only in a very good microscope (microscopes vary from £25 to £5000!) and also crucially a centrifuge to spin and separate out all the dung from the eggs, then probably best to pay for tests then worm as needed. You can get discounts for multiple tests to bring the cost down.
