On purchasing Equest Pramox today, I was told that it can sometimes cause mild colic, so best to keep an eye on horses.
Just wondered if anyone has had this problem? And also, how long after giving horse the wormer, could this be likely to happen?

If you're going to get side effects, it will be within 36 hours. Side effects are rare, except in horses with a heavy worm burden (huge quantities of worms being killed and dislodged from their parking space could cause colic) or if a horse is in very poor condition.

I've used Equest Pramox on numerous occasions on a lot of horses - youngsters, in-foal mares etc. and never had a problem with it. But if I had a horse with an unknown worming history - or who was very underweight - then I would use something LESS efficient first!
