Just buying wormers online and realised I forgot to treat for tapeworm in the spring...just gave normal Equest, is it too late to do it now?

No shouldn't be you could use a paramox to do your tape now.
I only treat for tape once a year in the winter after the first frost with bots ands small red. I'm not a great fan off pilling wormers down their thoats.
I paromox in winter for full clear out, equest in spring summer and a panacur inbetween for a change in chemical group.
I worm count mine and all very low so just stick with what I'm doing and sometimes don't give the equest so only wormed twice a year.

It is Pramox (not paramox) which is Equest (Moxidectin) plus Equitape in the same tube. You should rotate between different groups of wormer each year (not within the same year) The recommendations are to alternate Pramox and Equest every quarter with 13 weeks in between, ideally doing for tapeworm in autumn and spring. Worm counts do not show tapeworm, or encysted worms (ie waste of time in the winter when worms are encyted in the wall of the gut, so will not show), so are only a guide. You can get all the info you need on the manufacturers' websites - just search by wormer name.

No not too late - it's kind of do twice a year or some do just once a year - so you can do whenever really as there is no break in the lifecycle throught the seasons - you can use one of the combined ones now - Equest pramox, Equimax or Eqvalan duo or you can do later - september/ october time - or you could use a single type plus add in equitape, or last alternative doube dose pyrantel (Strongid P, Pyratape etc) - but tend to think that's expensive now.

there's loads of advice about how to approach worming in different situations, when to, what with and worm egg counts, also a planner where you can put in horses details and it sends you email reminders - brill cos I forget!!

Sorry but rotational worming programmes are old fashioned and no longer recommended. They select for resistance and there is already too much of that about. You should not change chemicals every year. You should not give wormers 4 times a year, blindly following the manufacturers pattern.

Best way: Use a worm count programme as a base and add the doses you need to still cover for. Lots of good, qualified advice around so find what suits you and stick with it.
