I'm getting my puppy (8 week old Boston Terrier)
grin.gif
at the end of August and know that she needs to be wormed every 2-3 weeks until she's 12 weeks then once a month until she's 6 months. What wormer would you recommend? I have found some on the internet for puppies/small dogs but will they be too strong for her? Is there a type of wormer for young puppies????

Thanks a lot.

I think that it is best for you to take your puppy along to the vets to be weighed everytime it needs to be wormed as then your pup will have the right amount of wormer and one that will work, as alot of pet shop wormers just don't do the job and its probably the same for those from the internet.

Best puppy wormer is Drontal puppy wormer in liquid form you give it orallly with a syringe. Its bright pink and you will probably end up wearing some of it!!!
We get it from the Vet or local agricultural feed merchant who does wormers for everything... cows, sheep, horses, dogs etc..
We use it for all our litters, you can also get Panacur puppy wormer but OH had problems in the past with is causing the squits, so we only use Drontal now.
Make sure you weigh the pup to ensure you have the correct dose, you should be able to do this fairly easily with a small terrier, we use some digital kitchen scales with a plastic tub to put the pup in. (We have patterdales so similar size if not bigger than a boston!!)

My Puppys have always had drontal puppy and i have never had a problem again just make sure you weigh them everytime. Do not be alarmed if your pup passes some worms this is quite normal first time..Happy sleepless nights

we use milbemax at work. they make puppy tablets - it's the best wormer as it does lungworm and we see lots of it in surrey. it's also rife in wales. drontal doesnt cover it.

I've not used Milbemax or Panacur on pups before as I was told there've been some reactions to it, have you ever come across that Star?
