Hi, we have got a bit behind with our worming program and just wondered what was the correct wormer for 2 horses at this time of year ? Both have some turn out in paddocks that are poo picked regularly.
Thanks guys !

It's good you are poo-picking. IN a small paddock it is essential to keep the worm-burden down. I do a droppings analysis once a year anyway so that would be where I would start first. Even horses regularly wormed can show positive. Any good quality wide-spectrum wormer will do. If your horse does show positive on the droppings analysis (no it is not an exhaustive test but it is a very good start) then worm again 2 weeks after the first. Don't forget to always check the droppings for the first 3 days after worming. I worm once every 3 months. Some people do more analyses and less worming. Personally I would rather regularly worm as infestations can start quickly. This is not an area I want to economise on.
