My friends mare is due in about 2 weeks. She was wormed about 6 weeks ago. I was telling my friend about worming straight after foaling to help prevent/ ease scouring. Can this mare safely be wormed again after she foals? I've tried it with my pony, foal is 5 days today so keeping a close eye now to see if worming worked!!!

Worm mare now then the foal will be covered for the first few weeks of it's life - and then 6 weeks after foaling.

Scouring is due to the mare coming back into season at foal heat (3-5 days after foaling) - nothing to do with worming. To protect foals bum from the scour, rub some vaseline on its butt at about day 2.

Foal and mare can both be wormed 6 weeks after foaling.
