Also in NL...

Having taken on a pony that has suffered laminitis on and off for the last 3 years, I obviously want to avoid any triggers if at all possible.

I know that his last attack occured around the same time he was wormed (Eqvalan)...now whether that is a coincidence I'm unsure of yet and am still working on getting the rest of his lami history
Anyway...does anyone know if there is any connection or any studies done that I could look at please?..

Now this is completely unscientific - I have no evidence and I'm not aware of any studies so take it as a random idea....

I once went to some small animal veterinary CPD where it was mentioned that the way that the drug praziquantel works to kill parasites is by forcing an increase in their insulin level. I have wondered ever since if the drug could have a similar effect on the host as well as the parasite.

Like I said it's just a thought...and it's easy to find alternative types of horse wormer.
