Hi, on vets advice 8 month old colt has been wormed with panacur 5 day guard and was looking a little pot bellied, (last day of wormer was today) was some dead worms in poo yesterday, he seems well in himself and is eating and drinking normally, but there was no poo in his paddock today, he has done one in his stable since I bought him in. He was out for about 5 hours! Should I be calling the vet? Am going to be going to check several times tonight but just worried. Sorry for the ramble.

I wormed mine at the weekend and he did more than normal quite a few splat(cow pat types with dead worms mixed in) They hardened back to normal the next day but he definitely did more than usual. Today I picked up this morning at 8.30am and went back to see him at 3.30 pm and he had only done two(usually there are 3 or 4).

I was surprised to see just two since this morning and am wondering if the wormer just completely cleaned him out. However he is eating and drinking fine.

If your youngster has done a poo now since coming in just keep an eye on him. Perhaps he was asleep when out? Mine often sleeps during the day.
