Hello everyone.I'm sorry but this has probably been done a zillion times but do you stable after worming?.I'm just curious after reading a post on here the other day that said that it is not needed to stable after worming?.I was always told to stable for 24 hours after worming and when giving a 5 day wormer to stable for the duration?.With these new fandangled wormers is it now not common practice. So what do you do and please feel free to explain your reasons.Thankies.

I don't because I poo pick daily and I also worm count so know there are few worms to re-infect with.

I dont because he lives out and gets very stressed and stiff in the stable.

I think that I read on here recently that its not for the horses benefit that you should stable but because of the impact on the enviroment and birds.......

But then again I could be talking absolute rubbish

We have to stable for 24 hours after worming as the farm has gone organic and we have to feed GM free food aswell.

I thought that modern wormers kill all the worms so it is only dead ones that come out in droppings after they have been wormed so it is safe for them to be turned out.
Please someone enlighten me if this is wrong!

it depends on where you are
as yards want people to worm and stable but if you own your own yard then you dont have to
i dont due to the fact my dont like being stabled and i also poo pick every day
