I have a worming programme that I got from the vets - I more or less followed it with my old mare and when I got my foals first vaccs the vet gave me the same one. Its time for the 5 day (according to the programme, I don't recall doing a 5 day every year :o ) However I'm not sure whether to give them it or not as they are foals, it also says at the bottom 'suitable for adults, seek advice for pregnant mares and youngstock. I would have thought the vet would have said to me when he gave it that it wasn't suitable for foals if it isn't...?

I think I'll phone the vets Monday just to be sure, but what do all you with youngsters worm with in Feb?

Panacur is a good wormer for foals and very difficult to overdose. The reason it is often recommended for foals is that it is good at treating ascarids, roundworm, which is mostly a worm which only affects youngsters. If in doubt a quick call to your vet would be in order.
