Hi,

I'm going to call the vet on Monday (when its cheaper), but does anyone know if it is ok to administer Equest to a pony that is on antibiotics and danilon? My poor girl got booted in the boobies today ....so the vet thought...and the mare that did it (she is only out with one other) got off scot free. Her owner is mortified...but I said its not like they have attacked each other and we have broken bones to deal with...they have been out with each other for 3 months and are stabled next to each other so go figure....

i have a foal on antibiotics and painkillers and the vet told me that it was fine to worm it but you should probs check different vets have different opinions. i hope your mare gets better soon

The vet said she will be fine. I noticed it at 1, when I was getting ready for a lesson...she had a huge swelling round her off side udder, and it was really hot to touch. A good friend of mine had a look with her torch as I was on the phone to the vet, a bit of a hole by all accounts. Vet reckoned it was a kick that morning...I joked that she would do anything to get out of being ridden only to be told that I would have to ride/exercise her everyday, minimum 20 minutes at a good trot to help the swelling go down, rain or shine, gale or snow. Yay....and the weather forecast is soooooo good.
