Worming regime - how often to count?

Up until now I have been on a yard where we have had a yard worming regime which all liveries followed (which has been Equest Pramox twice a year).

Am moving to small yard, only one other horse, and am planning to worm count and do what needs doing. I have been trying to work out best way forward. Those of you who do your own worming schedule, how often do you test?

I am a numpty with this - had a couple of decades and a bit away from horses and worming has changed somewhat! I don't think anyone worm counted then?

Or just ring them up and talk it through. Easier than working it out yourself.

My vet advises me when to submit samples and then tells me what to worm for if its needed - for instance in April and June this year no roundworm worming needed doing- tapeworm done spring and autumn - next samples due to go off in September.
