So we gave our boy 2 Drontal tablets last night just before he ate his dinner (was about 8pm by the time we got back). At 3am he was sick. I'm now wondering if the tablets would have been digested by then, or more likely to have come back up? Do I need to re-worm I guess is the question?

Also, would the tablets have caused the sickness? He is generally quite a 'sicky dog' i.e. will often do so after running around, likes to eat grass etc, but never done it overnight before.

He seemed fine when I got up this morning and ate breakfast as normal.

Any thoughts? Thanks

No idea how long the worming tablets take to digest but could you ring the worming company to ask? If not, may be your vet might know?

My boy gets really bad wind after worming but not yet brought the tablets back up again. Would be interested to know what you find out.

Mine sicks up Drontal, no matter if you give before/after food, or how long you give him.

Probably best if you ask your vet about re-worming. I switched to Advocate, more expensive but much less vomit!

Thanks both, I've asked OH to ask vet and will see what they say. Looking back he had Droncit last time and was fine so maybe we need to steer clear of Drontal in the future.

My Yorkie can't tolerate Drontal, so we switched to Milbemax which he is fine with. It's not uncommon to have a reaction to Drontal.
