As someone who's been doing worm counts only for quite a while, can someone remind me what (ie. Equimax, Equest etc.) and when to do them - I think its Spring usually but cant remember now!! And is it double dose time then? Thanks, you'd think Id have this ingrained in my mind by now after years of doing it...!

Equimax single dose treats more types of tapeworm than any other wormer. Needs doing spring and autumn, so approx end march and end september. Encysted cysthostomes should be treated december/january with moxidectin/equest.
Both these only show up on blood tests, not worm counts

Equest Pramox for spring time

Equest in January, Pramox April, Equest July, Pramox October. Replace with worm counts when possible (and when organised in time

) and if count is low enough then don't worm in Jan or Jul, and replace Pramox with Equitape in Apr and Oct. Easy

This site is quite good for the basics: www.wormers-direct.co.uk

Worm counts don't cover encysted worms. I was always told you can worm count twice a year but to strategically worm for tapeworm in Apri time and then use something like Pramox to deal with all worms including encysted and tapeworms in or around October?

To be on the safe side we use Pramox both times we worm then worm count the other two times.

I can PM you with a worming plan, if you pm me an email address I can send it, cant copy it over onto HHO as the format all changes and it muddles it all up, as its a table.

Would you mind emailing me a worming plan Kenzo? I always get confused...I'm sure it is easy but it seems so complicated to me??
If it's ok I'll PM you my email addy
