Just a musing really..
My horse has always been frequently wormed and his field (just him in it ATM) is cleared 2/3 times a week. He has only just moved back there after being at my home for 8 months. Never had a problem at home. In his stable there are no signs of worms whatsoever, and he's holding condition etc fine but I noticed today whilst doing his field that there were some in a few of his droppings.
I'm not 'up' on my worms so couldnt say whether it was just that they had moved in during the few days I'd not been out there, but I'll give him a 5 day panacur course anyway just to be on the safe side..
Just wondering really whether if he DID need worming why they aren't evident in his stable?! My only other thought is that the muckheap for the field is in the corner of the field itself.. so I wonder whether they have manifested in the muckheap and crawled their way across the field?
