worming youngsters

Can you worm youngsters with equest???? I am talking 18 month old. Have been told today that they shouldnt be wormed with Equest but offered no reason. Is there any other wormers you should avoid for youngsters???

Info on Equest package says not for foals under 4 months of age but fine after that. Also says ok for pregnant & lactating mares.

I wormed my yearling with Equest this year.

I've always been told its more than safe during pregnancy and after first 4-5 months, I tend to favour it over most other wormers.

i worm both my youngsters with it, touch wood i never had a problem.

I use Equest and Equest Praemox on all my foals once they get to 4 months! Never had a problem. The only thing I would advise is being careful with weight estimation, because over-dosing is possibly more likely to cause a bit of colic if foalies DO have a worm burden.
