When you worm your horse do they need to stay in the stable afterwards? And for how long?

i keep them in (or keep them in a small paddock and poo-pick it as often as i can all day) for at least 24 hours, more like 36. certain wormers kill all the worms rather than just clearing them out, so i guess with that type it's prob alright to leave the horses out.
