depends on the time of year. i worm count before giving equest and if it comes back low i skip it. i always give the pramox dose anyway so can't see much point in worm counting before it.
The idea of doing worm counts is that you can hopefully reduce your doses and not give a wormer.
So it may be possible to give Equest Pramox in winter, then do three counts over the year and not need anything else. In some situations you might add a second tapeworm dose but that can just be an Equitape which only treats tapes.
We have used a worm count programme with our own horses for more than ten years, but it takes a long time to convince everyone of the benefits! Now recommended by the BVA too.
