This is the silliest question in the world but something i have never really had to deal with as i have either been on full livery or at a yard where wormers are ordered in at the correct time for you.
At my new yard i am not on the same worming programme so need to sort it out for myself so here are my questions.

I have always used equest and equimax alternately- is this enough?

What intervals should i be worming- 13 weeks?

Thanks!

There is an Equest/Parmox year pack available now, so you only have to worm 4 times a year.

I personally have worm counts done and just worm for tape worn and encysted redworm in the Autumn.

equest and equest pramox alternately would be better as both have 13 wk dosing intervals whereas equimax is only 10 wks. you can safetly use this programme for 2 years, after that you must rotate the drug group (not just the brand name) to prevent resistance to the wormer you are currently using. make sure you dose for the correct bodyweight, using a weigh tape will give you and idea.

Best of all, if possible, is one dose of Equest Pramox, to treat everything then 2 or 3 worm counts over the rest of the year. This is targeted worming, now recommended by leading vets and wormer manufacturers. You may need to add extra wormers in to start with but as control develops the worm counts come out clear and worming is not needed.
There is a sample programme on the website if you need help.
