I'm a bit out of it when it comes to worming - I admit I've always just followed the yard rules, given the right dose of wormed when it's that time (wormers usually provided & billed for) and that's that.
Now, I'm set with 3 to worm, not sure how best to go about it.
Dimples: 19yr old pony, shares field with Peanut
Peanut: 9 month old colt, shares field with Dimples
Dante: 9yr old horse, on livery - will soon be moving to field with above ponies
Dan & Pea were both wormed with Equest Pramox in Nov, Dimples was wormed not long before I believe although I can't recall what with (it was before we collected him). Fields are all poo-picked regularly. I think I need to worm asap though as have spotted some worms in Pea's muck - I've never actually seen any previously.
So, am I best to do them all now? All in a few weeks when I move Dante? (should be moving him end of March), just do Peanut? Worm count all/just the older two? I'm thinking I should just do Pea anyway as I know youngsters are more prone to infestation, as are older ones so doing Dimples makes sense... but do I need to do Dan or am I best to wait with him? Peanut has grazed on the entire field (3 acres) but not recently - he's now restricted to a more secure area as he's an escape artist & will otherwise walk through the hedges
If I worm now, what would be best to use?
Thanks in advance
