Worming

Does anyone have a chart which says when to worm and what all the different wormers contain/prevent? The lab I use for worm counts says to worm September for tapeworm with equitape or similar and in December for encysted red worm and bots using Equest. Is that seriously all I need to use?

Yes if your counts are clear that is all you need. Those charts are old hat these days. Save worming for when you need it.

I had a worm count done by Westgate Labs recently, came back clear. They told me to worm with Equest Pramox after the first frost - this will do tapes and encysted redworm in one hit - then worm count again 3 months after this. I think you can tapeworm (Equest?) in the spring. I was following a worming prog from my vet but it seemed like a heck of a lot of worming for a horse who is on individual turnout, poo picked every 1-2 days, on fields which are rested.
