If there are two paddocks/fields of the same size each containing the same number of grazing horses which are seperated by a fence. One of the paddocks/field has the worms picked up on a daily basis and the other paddock/field never has the worms picked up.

How far in distance do the worms migrate/travel from the paddock/field that does not have the worms picked up into the field that does have the worms picked up?

Something I have occasionally pondered when I hear that some folks pick up their horses field poo and then dump it under the hedge....

I believe it depends on the weather conditions- the worms travel further in warm damp conditions. They don't like taking their promenades in dry or frosty weather though...

PS What you need is an onager....

Well, as Dozziesmummy has hinted, there are two kinds of onager;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onager_(siege_weapon)
And although I did used to muck out by throwing my poo over the partition into my friend's stable (til she caught me), I meant the 'wild ass' one.
I am sure Dozziesmummy is familiar with asses in their many forms, and she was about to tell you that, despite being a member of the equidae family which were all thought to suffer the same parasite problems, they in fact have been found to be 'immune' to worms....thus would clear up your grazing.
I know so many useless random facts....but why?

I was just thinking 'why would I want an ass-mule-donkey type creature' and then catapults got dragged into it.......

Now I think I really must get one!

As to why you know so many random, useless facts, well, what creature has no echo when it makes its natural noise?
