We have 2 large fields for 3 horses and we worm them all on the equest and equitape program. They are due for both this weekend. We completely clear the paddock they are in of poo once a week in winter and almost every day in summer. Whilst they are in one paddock, the other one rests. They've been in their current paddock for around 2 months and prior to that it had been rested all summer. When I was clearing poo last weekend, I noticed small white worms in one of the poos, they were alive. We then checked each of the horses poos that evening as they all did one when they came in and no worms.

Where would they have come from, the ground?? We always move paddocks when we worm so they'll be moving again this weekend anyway.

We have only had the paddocks since March and they were not poo cleared regularly prior to us having them so could it be that the ground is worm infested?

Thanks!

It doesn't necessarily mean that the paddock is infested. You may find that something laid its eggs onthe poo in the paddock & they hatched out & that is what you saw. If there is no worms in the stable then I would imagine that that's what's happened.
