My Mom's cat, Mitzi, has had a lump appear on the base of her neck, just above her shoulders. She will be taken to the vets tomorrow morning. It doesn't seem sore or to be bothering her.
Does anyone have any idea what it might be?
Both Mom and I are worried about her :(

Honestly don't know - not a vet but looks quite localised and am sure they'll do a biopsy - good luck and let us know how it goes :)

I'd probably discuss going straight for removing the lump with the Vet (unless the cat is really old) - my grey has just had a lump removed from her face and it was a quick and simple procedure. The lump has now been sent to Histology to see if it was a melanoma or not. Cats have lots of loose skin on their neck/shoulders, so removing the lump and surrounding tissue wont be a problem.

I have heard of certain vaccinations being linked to lumps in that area, but whether this is the case here I don't know.
