I used to know a horse who use to do this and funny enougth it was allways after it had rained and the ground was wet we never new the real reason behind it but he was very healthy and that was 10 years ago and hes still alive today so i would not worry to much as i would always advise if in doubt check it out with your vet but i am sure he will be fine sorry if its not much help

There is an article about narcolepsy and related conditions in this week's H&H. May even be on the website if you have a look.

A pony of mine once did the exact thing and we thought she was dying and my heart was in my mouth but then we made her move forwards and she seemed to pull herself together and was fine from that day on!! Very strange and very scarey!!
