Came home at lunch to walk the dogs and Tyson had been sick EVERYWHERE in his cage, regurgetating the turkey leg he had for dinner last night and much much more. I've never seen so much sick. His poo is like water (sorry) and he's quiet and miserable. He also seems to have rubbed the hair off his nose which now looks purple and sore.

I called the vets but can't get an appointment until tomorrow, but I'm thinking it may have to be the emergencey vets this evening if he's no better.

Am I over reacting? He quite often gets a runny tummy but this is something altogether different to the norm! :(

Mine sometimes regurgitate bits of undigested turkey leg but sounds a lot more with Tyson if he has the runs as well. Is he drinking okay? I imagine vets are pretty busy after the holiday but I would have thought they could have managed to see you. I would call again and try and get to speak to a vet and they could hopefully advise you if they need to see him. Are you able to check his temperature? If he is anything like mine he has probably made his nose sore because he was trying to get out of his cage when he felt the need to be sick. Hope he feels better soon, obviously don't offer him any food whilst he is like this, and definitely speak to your vet.

He's drinking fine, and is up wondering around and howling which seems like normal Tyson behaviour. I've had to go back to work so my dad has agreed to check him in an hour or so. Called my vets back and am now awaiting a call from one of the vets to speak to me but they didn't seem impressed about it! I don't have anything to take his temp with or else I would have. Just waiting for the vet to call me back now.

The nose rubbing will no dount be from him trying to cover the sick with his bedding, using his nose, dogs can be pretty frantic like this, I have had dogs do it when I have put them in a crate with food and they dont want the food but they try their damndest to cover it resulting in a skinned nose.
If he had a bed in, I can guarantee thats what it is, otherwise as MM suggested maybe trying to get out and away from the puke.
Let us know how is gets on at the vets, hopefully just an icky tummy?

Yeah he had some vet bed in there. Poor lad :(

Not long back from vets, he had no temp and wasn,t sore when prodded, although he was sick in waiting room. Vet said he things he has food sensitivity and is probably allergic to chicken amongst other stuff. He has suggested we take him off the raw diet and try him on fish for dogs or james wellbelloved food although its pretty much going to be down to us to try certain things and see how he gets on.

Glad its nothing serious though, sorry I paniced!

Glad it's nothing serious - you can also feed white fish/salmon/add salmon oil or Fish4Dogs' salmon mousse alongside the dry food too if you want to keep a little tiny bit of the raw in there x
