Worth her weight....

....in gold.

Just want to crow about my pony. My friend and I wanted to go for a hack yesterday, but being father's day my friend was a bit short of time. So instead of taking the scenic "safe" route, we deceided to chance THE MAIN ROAD as this takes roughly 2 and a half hours off the time it takes us to get to where we want to ride. We met big articulated lorries, caravans, motor bikes, trail bikes on rattly trailers, even a bloomin boat being towed, and not once did my "its huge I'm having a heartattack" pony batt an eye. Even when Mr Bombproof turned tail at the milk lorry and came nose to nose with my girl, as imoveable as a mountain (albeit a small one). She's one in a million and I'm so glad I got to own her from almost day dot.

Ah, this is what I want. The mythical rare beast that is the Bombproof Pony. Rarer even than kelpies and hen's teeth. Fancy packing her off up to West Yorkshire for a tenner? She'll have a lovely home with a trouble-causing elderly ponio mare, a donkey and a couple of other horses. I'll throw in a free lunch if it'll sway you.

Funny...I was offered £6K for her last year, and though that was a joke..turned out they were serious...I was stunned, and politely quietly said she's not for sale, not ever, not for anything. I was then told I could buy a "proper" horse with the money from her sale. I think my silence spoke volumes....we are going to grow old together and have a lot of fun along.

[/ QUOTE ] My goodness. Absolutely. What madness to consider keeping hold of your top notch pony when you could have something taller. Who cares if it's not even half as good - it's a 'proper' horse and that's far more important than any silly nonsense like trust and safety and love!

Stupid people

. It tells you a lot about their attitude towards horses and ponies.

Yep..totally. We may not be jumping 5ft against the clock, or doing the Golden Horseshoe, or even affiliated elimentary, BUT...I can take her anywhere, have a go at anything, and if we do come home with a rosette its a bonus. I'm so proud of her, and I have every confidence that I have achieved what I set out to do...have a pony safe enough for kids to climb on, only sad thing is I started working on this in earnest for my cousin's daughter who had cancer..she is no longer with us, but the rest of the family are churning kids out, so they will get to have the fun on Hannah's behalf. I'm just going to be that wonderful Auntie with the pony....chortle.
