My boy is very laidback inhand, but under saddle he can get quite anxious and tense, and spooks/panics sometimes, yesterday he spooked at someone getting out of their car and shutting the door! And he jumps when people suddenly appear round the corner, despite the fact he is 17 and has seen this all before! Is it worth trying a calmer to take the edge off him? Which one?

I've had mine on Magnitude after advice on here and it hasn't even touched them!

now we have had our spooky and nervous boy on magnitude and he is such a different chap now. I'd definately recommend it.

I use NAF Five Star Magic and it seems to work quite well on Ali

Thats what I'd tried before the magnitude, didn't find it worked as well now seeing he's alot calmer and relaxed on magnitude, suppose they all work differently on different horses

Hi,
My mare is 14yrs, and last year I decided to try a calmer for Hunting as she got so stressed, I put her on top spec calmer for the laid back approach to life, and it has made such a difference, I can now leave her a few days before riding, which i couldnt before without lunging first, she was stroppy, and could be very silly, and has a good buck in her when something went past she didnt like. Its so much better especially during the winter months when its cold wet or windy, I cut it down a bit during the summer when she is calmer, then up it to the correct amount about october, I also use a exercise sheet so she doesnt feel the cold so much as all my hacks are along quite busy roads. P.s. She is hunting so much better now too as i double the dose a day before i go, she stands at the meet nice and calm and I can keep her at the back as she is a red ribbon, and she doesnt even mind people flying past her, and she travels much better too, so and all round success

I use magnitude and it works just fine for my boy but as samstar says "they all work differently on different horses " you will probably just have to try until you find the right one.....I was lucky as he was on it when I bought him so know it suits him
