My YO and I are thinking about putting on a sort of 'casual unafil dressage' day, designed for dressage first timers or people who want to try it in a very relaxed and informal atmosphere.
There used to be regular dressage and SJ comps at the yard and the facilities are excellent but due to one thing and another and a few horrible things going on last year there have not been any comps since last summer.
People have been asking YO when she is going to start again and I have offered to help organise a relaxed dressage day as it is easier than putting up a course of jumps
and I think a lot of people would like the opportunity of trying dressage without the stress. I think it would also be less stressful for YO while she is getting back into it.
I was thinking about doing a walk and trot class, 2 prelim classes and a novice. I was also going to ask that if people entering the novice want to do the prelim class as a warm up they do so hors concurs so that it gives those people doing the prelim have a better chance of getting a rosette. Is that fair enough do you think as I want everyone to come away feeling happy?
The judge is very relaxed and I know will be very encouraging so it should be a good day, I'm just nervous about organising it and no one turning up! So if this sort of event was in your area would you be interested???
Thankies
